Overview

Tata Central Hospital is a 60 bedded, secondary level care hospital having its presence in Tata Steel West Bokaro collieries. 

Its objective is to provide prompt & rational medical care to employees, their dependents and people of surrounding locality in a customer friendly environment and to further corporate social responsibility measures of TATA STEEL amongst the communities & stake holders.

LOCATION

The hospital is located at Ghatotand, part of village Barughutu in Mandu block of district Ramgarh, Jharkhand. This place is 25 km from the district headquarters at Ramgarh and 65 kms from state capital Ranchi, well connected by NH-33 with a diversion at Naya More. 

Being a captive medical facility of Tata Steel, treatment is free for employees, their dependants and contractual workmen. Nonemployees can also avail treatment on payment basis.

As per CSR initiative, TSRDS operates in and around 50 surrounding villages for sustainable development. Tata Central Hospital also aids in this process, being the nearest referral centre for medical emergencies.



Facilities

  • OPD services A full fledged OPD consultation and diagnostic service covering all major medical specialties caters to 350 to 500 patients per day. OPD has facilities for General medicine, General surgery, O&G, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dentistry, Occupational health, Physiotherapy, and rehabilitation unit. Diagnostic services include pathology, biochemistry, radiology, ultrasound, audiometry, spirometry, ECG, 2D echo and ophthalmological tests. The occupational health centre caters to employee and contractual workmen IME and PME as well as wellness at workplace initiatives. Doctors participate in mega health check-up camps for school children and villagers.
  • 24X7 casualty service – Hospital has a fully equipped casualty department with round the clock personnel to tackle most of the emergencies. A fully equipped cardiac care ambulance and 2 more round the clock ambulance services are available to transfer critically ill patients to higher centre. Specialists are available 24X7 on request from casualty.

  • Indoor services – Hospital has 60 fully airconditioned beds inclusive of general wards, 8 cabins, isolation wing, 3 beds ICU, NICU, labour room, 2 beds modern Operation Theatre, all well backed up by an oxygen plant, generator facility, blood transfusion, pharmacy, in hospital kitchen for patient diet, sewage treatment plant and biomedical waste disposal facility. During COVID times, the hospital has installed RTPCR test lab and has provided yeoman service to the employees and surrounding community with free COVID vaccination facility. It has good communication and liaison with District health authorities for managing covid care centre and being a pioneer the entire district with covid immunisation programme.  Department of General Medicine caters to most routine and emergency situations with the backup of ICU and ventilator facility. Department of General & Laparoscopic Surgery takes up most emergency and routine surgeries along with trauma care for accident and burn victims. Department of O&G conducts annually around 400 labour cases along with major gynaecological surgeries. Paediatric emergencies are taken care around the clock by NICU and phototherapy facility. The Ophthalmology Department regularly carries out cataract surgeries with SICS and PHACO emulsification. With soon to be inducted OCT and Laser facility it is poised to take care of complex retinal diseases. Department of ENT carries out major, open and micro surgeries of head and neck region. A well equipped Anaesthesiology Department provides regular anaesthesia and critical care services including mechanical ventilation facility for critically ill. The indoor is very well supported by Pathology Deptt with their prompt diagnostic services and blood transfusion facilities round the clock.
