Neurosurgery is a highly specialized field of medicine whose focus is the surgical treatment of brain and spine disorders. Our department has been the pioneer in this region in introducing latest treatment modalities using operating microscope and endoscope for the treatment of various neurological disorders. We have been supported by excellent diagnostic services which include 3 Tesla MRI and 128-slice CT. Our critical care and post-operative facilities are excellent and offer our patients the best chance for recovery. Our aim is to provide the best care to our patients which will help to put them back on the road to recovery.

Outpatient service: Our team sees patients in the OPD on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 5 pm in the rooms 112 and 113.

Trauma service: Our team is available 24x7 for the treatment all varieties of head injury and spine injury. Our center is the preferred one in this region for neurotrauma.

Spine disorders: We have all the facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of all kinds of spine disorders like cervical spondylosis, lumbar spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, spinal tumors, spinal tuberculosis, cranio-vertbral junction anomalies, Chiari malformations, and syringomyelia. We specialize in micro-discectomy, instrumented spinal fusion at all levels of the spine.

Brain Tumors: Our team of neurosurgeons is regularly involved in the diagnosis and surgical removal of all kinds of brain tumors. We are equipped with high-end and specialized modalities like operating microscope, CUSA, Stryker neurodrill for the excision of tumors like glioma, meningioma, vestibular schwannoma etc.

Endoscopic Neurosurgery: We use minimally invasive endoscopic methods to remove skull base tumors like pituitary adenomas. We are also using endoscopy to do third ventriculostomy (ETV) for patients with hydrocephalus.

Cerebrovascular Surgery: We are one of the very few centers in this region offering cerebrovascular surgery facilities. We routinely operate on disorders like intracranial aneurysms (aneurysm clipping) with good results.

Stroke Surgery: We offer surgery in selected cases of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke with good results. This involves decompressive hemicraniectomy for ischemic stroke and removal of hematoma for hemorrhagic stroke.

Surgery for Hydrocephalus: We regularly operate on patients with hydrocephalus offering them either ventriculo-peritoneal shunt (VP shunt) or endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV).
